2022-2023 Concert Season
All concerts will be held at Cambier Park in the City of Naples, Florida.
A Naples Tradition. After finishing their 50th anniversary year, the Naples Concert Band sets its sights on another 50 years of entertaining Southwest Florida residents with their popular Sunday Concerts in the Park. Each of the 8 concerts offer an exciting mix of new music and memorable old favorites. Featured guest soloists and inventive programing promise to provide music to please everyone’s musical palate. If you have never attended a NCB concert, be prepared for a great musical experience.
Autumn is in the Air!
The 2022 – 2023 season will open on Sunday Oct. 16 with a concert that has it all: Impressive Soloists, Classic Band Literature, Movie Themes, Opera Selections, a Popular Rock Medley and of course Traditional Marches.
Assistant director. John Salminen, will make his debut conducting “Strike Up The Band” and “Autumn Leaves”.
Vocal soloists Doug Renfroe and Carolann Sanita will be featured in multiple selections. Doug will sing a special arrangement of “You Raise Me Up“. Carolann will do the emotional “Winner Takes It All” from “Mama Mia” and they will combine their voices to present “La Ci Darem La Mano” from Mozart’s “Don Giovanni”.
Robert Sheldon’s “Magic City Montage”, Rossano Galante’s “God’s Country”, “The Doors On Tour”, and “At The Movies With John Williams” will round out the program.

Veterans Day Salute!
The Naples Concert Band, under the direction of Harris Lanzel and assisted by John Salminen, will present an exciting and inspirational tribute to our Armed Services and our American Heritage.
C.J. Greer will be the feature vocalist for the afternoon. C.J. has performed around the world from theme parks to Broadway to Carnegie Hall. She is a singer, actor, teacher and conductor with an undying love for storytelling through music. C.J. is a member of the Music Faculty at the University of Nevada, Reno.
C.J. will sing “America the Brave”, “Don’t Rain On My Parade”, “Irving Berlin’s Songs for America” and a special arrangement entitled “Freedom Call”.
“Freedom Quest”, “Selections from Top Gun”, “They Solemnly Served” and “Nathan Hale Trilogy” will enhance the patriotic concert theme.
The Grand Finale will feature a special arrangement of Taps followed by the presentation of each branch of our military during Bob Lowden’s “Armed Forces Medley”.
This will be a very emotional concert with many memorable musical reminders of our great country.

Christmas in July
Happy Holidays!
Let’s all get in a Holiday Mood! The Naples Concert Band will provide the perfect music for this year’s Holiday Celebration.
Our Christmas vocal quartet entertains with “White Christmas” “Christmas on Broadway” and Leroy Andersons “A Christmas Festival”. An oboe duet of Sue Adney and Dianne Salminen will be featured playing Ennio Morricone’s “Gabriel’s Oboe”.
“Midnight Sleigh Ride”, “A Hanukkah Festival”, “A Mariah Carey Christmas” and “Christmas At The Movies” are a few of the other selections that will set the mood for this year’s Holiday Celebration.

Happy New Year!
The first concert of the New Year features professional Alto Saxophonist Steven Parker and outstanding vocalist Jodi Keogan.
Steven will perform the Intermezzo from Bizet’s “L’Arlesienne Suite #2” and a jazz arrangement of “Lullaby of Birdland”. Jodi will sing “Nessun Dorma”, “Il Bacio” (The Kiss) and “Con te Partiro”.
Rossini’s “Barber of Seville Overture”, Warren Barker’s “New York” 1927”, “Mancini Spectacular”, Sammy Nestico’s arrangement of “Anitra’s Dance” and a generous dose of popular marches round out the program.

Happy Valentines' Day
Virtuoso Trombonist Harry Watters and fan favorite vocalist Craig Greusel will headline NCB’s February 5 concert.
Harry will “blow your mind” with “A Musical Journey Through New Orleans” and “Cherokee”. Craig will sing “Tonight” from “West Side Story” and a medley of songs from “The Wizard of Oz”.
“Overture to Candide”, “Iron and Ice: A Viking Adventure”, “Blue Tango” and “The Blues Brothers Review” are some of the other impressive arrangements that are programed to show off the NCB.

Happy St. Patrick's Day
The Naples Concert Band will perform a varied program of popular and classic band favorites at Cambier Park on Sunday, March 5.
Outstanding vocalist Mark Sanders will be featured performing two medleys “Broadway in the 90’s” and “A Tribute to Sammy Davis Jr.”
We will also feature some of our talented musicians. Principal flute, Julie Meschko and principal clarinet Joseph Duffy will perform a concert duet “Tarantella' by the French composer Camille Saint Saen and our percussion section will be featured in “Rumble on the High Plains.”
Included will be band classics “Fantasia on the Dargason” by the British composer Gustav Holst, “Hosts of Freedom March” by K.L King, “Midway March” by John Williams and a chance to commemorate the 35th anniversary of Johan De Meij’s Symphony # 1, “The Lord of the Rings.”
NCB will make you feel like dancing with some up tempo pieces including “ABBA on Broadway,” “Puttin’ on the Ritz,” “Shake a Tail Feather” and “Arabian Dances.”

Spring is in the Air!
The NCB will present a special Saturday evening concert on March 25, 2023 at Cambier Park. Outstanding vocalist Heather Ivy and our first chair Trumpet, Richard Miller, will be the feature soloists for the evening.
Heather sings “How Far I’ll Go” from Moana and “Andrew Lloyd Webber A Concert Celebration”. Richard will do Alfred Reed’s “Ode for Trumpet”
Local composer Michael Donovan will premier his new arrangement of “Bridge Over Troubled Water”.
“The Hounds of Spring”, “A Scotland Adventure”, “Funiculi-Funicula Rhapsody” and “The Genius of Ray Charles” are some of the other highlights on the Saturday evening concert.

Farewell, Maestro!
Professional guitarist, Denny Scott and fan favorite vocalist Amy Bright will be featured in the Naples Concert Band’s final concert of their 51st season. Denny will play Mason Williams’ “Classical Gas” and Amy will sing “Blue Moon” and “Love Is Here To Stay” accompanied by the NCB Big Band.
Music of a lighter nature will complement their performances. “Iberian Escapades”, “Rollo Takes a Walk”, “Dances of a Shimmering Spirit” and “Tower of Power” are some of those selections.
This concert will be NCB’s maestro Harris Lanzel’s last concert. He will be retiring after 15 years as Music Director/Conductor of the NCB.
