We Salute Our Veterans!
The Naples Concert Band, under the direction of Harris Lanzel and assisted by John Salminen, will present an exciting and inspirational tribute to our Armed Services and our American Heritage. CJ Greer will be the featured vocalist for the afternoon. CJ has performed around the world from theme parks to Broadway to Carnegie Hall. She is a singer, actor, teacher and conductor with an undying love for storytelling through music. CJ is a member of the Music Faculty at the University of Nevada, Reno. CJ will sing “America the Brave,” “Don’t Rain On My Parade,” “Irving Berlin’s Songs for America” and a special arrangement entitled “Freedom Call.” “Freedom Quest,” “Selections from Top Gun,” “They Solemnly Served” and “Nathan Hale Trilogy” will enhance the patriotic concert theme.
The Grand Finale will feature a special arrangement of Taps followed by the presentation of each branch of our military during Bob Lowden’s “Armed Forces Medley.” This will be a very emotional concert with many memorable musical reminders of our great country.

CJ Greer joined the music and music theatre faculty at the University of Nevada, Reno implementing a new musical theatre degree program and creating crossover vocal training tracks. Greer found her passion in vocal performance and instruction. She carries an MFA and MM in musical theatre and classical performance and pedagogy from Penn State University and a BME from the University of Illinois/Champaign-Urbana, instrumental and choral music education. She has performed around the world from theme park to Broadway to Carnegie Hall. She is a singer, actor, teacher and conductor with an undying love for storytelling through music. She has received national acclaim for her a cappella musical arrangements, has arranged and developed revue shows for cruise ships, cabaret shows, has been honored with multiple Helen Hayes nominations in performance and is currently developing a one-woman show.

Mary Zitnik holds a BM in voice performance from DePaul University. Prior to relocating to Florida, Mary was a member of the Grammy award-winning Chicago Symphony Chorus. She appeared as an alto soloist with David Byrne in his orchestral work, The Forest, as well as several other featured performances with the Chicago Symphony and other ensembles and opera companies in Chicago. Mary has also appeared as the alto soloist in Haydn’s, Creation with the Southwest Florida Symphony. She has appeared as a soloist with the Southwest Florida Concert Band and Brass Music Elements. Mary has recorded commercial jingles as well as a CD of original Catholic songs for young children entitled, “Totally Catholic.” Her performance background includes classical, standards, country, pop, and rock. She also enjoys playing trumpet and is a member of the Naples Concert Band, Bonita Springs Concert Band and Brass Music Elements.
Cambier Park is located in the heart of Naples, just south of 5th Avenue South. There is ample parking, restaurants and things to see and do after the concert!
